May 2012: Double triumph: Gold and silver in Hamburg for ad agency planB

Advertising agency planB win Intermedia-Globe gold and silver at the WorldMediaFestival in Hamburg. Hamburg – on the 9th May 2012 advertising agency planB once again secured honours at the WorldMediaFestival. There was gold in the category “PR: Energy” for its animated film about renewable energy for global power company Eaton, and silver in the category “Animation: Computer” for its new film “punching and cutting” for its client Welser Profile. Speaking about the awards, Gregor Jasch, head of planB said: ”The awards are an acknowledgment of client trust and the quality of all the diverse campaigns from our agency.” The Intermedia-Globe is the sixth prize in succession for the short animated film for Eaton which shows the history of renewable energy based on the insight, “People used to believe in mythology. Today they believe in safety.” The awards to date include a “Golden Dolphin” in Cannes 2011, a “Silver Screen Award” in Los Angeles, a “Golden Green Award” in Deauville, a “Silver Victoria” in Vienna and a “Bronze Remi” at the 2012 World Festival in Houston. smartXcellence is the innovative brand from Welser Profile, the specialist for custom-built solutions in the field of cold roll profiling. The brand-new film “punching and cutting” continues the success story which started in 2011 with the first of three films, one of which also won gold in the category “Trailer” at the 2011 World Media Festival. The new production –“smartXcellence punching and cutting” – shows the production process of a workpiece in different lengths, captured in 3D animated form in a “virtual” factory where the exceptional production process capabilities of Welser Profile in punching and cutting can be clearly shown. planB was also amongst the winners at the 2011 international WorldMediaFestival in Hamburg, winning gold for its smartXcellence trailer for Welser Profile and silver for its iPad Percption app for AKG. Festival facts: The WorldMediaFestival is an annual event which honours and celebrates the best international solutions for corporate film, television, web and print productions. The awards recognise excellence in modern communication and are one of the most important symbols for visual competition. The jury is made up of communications professionals and experts in the fields of corporate communications and film production.
